However, these writings were eventually excluded from the canonical Bible. Notably, it includes accounts of the young Jesus, such as the Gospel of Mary and the Protevangelion, which offer additional folklore regarding His birth and early adventures that are currently unavailable. Of particular interest are the letters supposedly from Paul and Seneca, as well as the letters attributed to Herod and Pilate, which are likely forged but contribute to a deeper examination of Jesus' historicity. Additionally, there are numerous non-canonical epistles like the Laodiceans. The three books of the Shepherd of Hermas are worthy of close inspection as they utilize apocalyptic and symbolic imagery.
